Superintendents Report:
A complaint was received regarding the port a potties on the common.
Fence Post repair work continues, more leveling of ground need.  Commissioners voted to continue with the project. Replacing any pipes damaged beyond repair.  Ray Boyes moved to approved $2500.00 from the Amanda Dwight Cemetery Fund for the project.  Tubby Boucher second all were in favor.

Water line at Hillside cemetery will cost approx. $0.89 per foot, new hydrant by flag pole.  The cost of the project from Ave 5 to Middle Avenue will be approx. $3,000.00, Tubby made a motion to proceed with the water line project funding to be taken from various accounts.  Ray second all were in favor motion carried.

A request was made to for the “Stop the Pipe Line Group” to use the upper common for a community yard sale on 10/18.  Ray Boyes made a motion to allow the group to use the Upper Common for the yard sale.  Tubby Boucher second all were in favor motion carried.
Adams Dam discussion will be tabled to a later meeting.  A brief discussion was held on the gate to keep people from accessing the dam.

The Historical Commission is still upset with banners on the Common (Soldiers),

The sign pole can only hold two signs/banners.  This is not always enough space to accommodate signs for events/activities on the Common.  A discussion was held on having no signs/banners on common once the solider sign is replaced.

The cleaning of the Birney Blood Monument went well.  Additional work could be done in the spring.  The granite base also could be cleaned and restored as well. Al Birrille will get a price for work on the granite.

Tank has about 1000 hrs of use.  Needs a new motor.  Would be better to replace motor then whole mower.  Ray made a motion to have Roger replace the motor in the tank.  Tubby second all were in favor motion carried.

Over the weekend during the Historical Society Craft Fair the common fence was damaged. The dept. will revisit its “no cars on the common policy”.  A quote will be gotten for repairs and bill will be sent to the Historical Society for payment.
There was other damage/trash left on the Gazebo as well, but this was not the responsibility of the Townsend Historical Society.  There may have been some miscommunication about removing excess trash from the Common.
